New Calendar or Old Calendar
Follow the Revised Julian or the Julian Calendar, whichever your parish keeps. The month view shows both dates side by side, and you can change your church or calendar at any time in Settings.
The calendar comes from each church’s own calendar, used with their permission, and covers every day through 2036.

The Church day, first thing
Open the app and the day is there, in the colour of the Church year: the feast, the tone and the fast, the saint of the day with their icon, and the Epistle and Gospel.

What can I eat today?
The fast in plain words: strict, wine and oil, fish, dairy, or fast-free. With a countdown to the next fast and the next feast.
The daily readings

All of the day's saints
With their icons, lives, troparia and kontakia.
A verse and a word from the saints

The Lord tends me as a shepherd, and I shall want nothing. In a place of green grass, there he has made me dwell.
The daily prayers, read aloud
Morning and evening prayers, prayers at mealtime, and the prayers before and after Holy Communion, from the Jordanville Prayer Book. Each is its own prayer, with a contents list, search and pinned favourites.

Read by a person
The morning and evening prayers, the prayers before and after Holy Communion, and the New Testament were recorded by a person, not generated by text-to-speech. Some are free to hear; listening to all of them is part of Premium. The Gospels are read from the New King James Version, the rest of the New Testament from the King James.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Every text is free, for good: the Bible, the calendar, the saints, their lives and the prayers. Premium is optional. It adds listening, offline recordings, Apple Watch, widgets, reading plans and alternative icons, and it never locks a text.
Which churches and calendars does it follow?
The Orthodox Church in America (OCA), the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese (GOARCH), on the New (Revised Julian) or the Old (Julian) Calendar. You can switch at any time in Settings.
Which Bible translation does it use?
The Old Testament is the Septuagint, in Sir Lancelot Brenton’s English translation. The New Testament is the King James Version. In the recordings, the New Testament is read from the King James Version, except the four Gospels, which are read from the New King James Version.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account, no ads and no tracking. What you save stays on your phone.
Is there an Android version?
Not for now. Orthodox Bible & Calendar is for iPhone and Apple Watch.
How do I restore a purchase?

How do I get help?
